Every two years, the renowned professionals of the WDR BIG BAND meet the motivated young musicians of the BUNDESJAZZORCHESTER. This is the fifth time that the young musicians have benefited from this lively cooperation. Coaching, workshops, exchange of ideas, joint rehearsals and subsequent concerts in Heek and Cologne. The WDR Big Band feat. bandleader Steffen Schorn on contraalto clarinet and Tubax with „Rolling“ (composition / arrangement: Steffen Schorn). Another solo is played by Hubert Nuss on piano, Hans Dekker on drums. Recorded as part of the final concert for the joint workshop week of the Bundesjugendjazzorchester with the WDR BIG BAND at the WDR Funkhaus / Cologne (September 2021).
