„PLEASURE OUT OF THE TREASURE“:
BuJazzO & WDR BIG BAND perform „Lost“, a composition and arrangement written in 1990
The BUNDESJAZZORCHESTER and members of the WDR BIG BAND perform „Lost“ (composer / arranger: Steffen Schorn) under the direction of Steffen Schorn. Solos are played by Johannes Knoll and Andy Haderer on trumpet and Andy Hunter on trombone. Also featured is Steffen Schorn on bass clarinet. Recorded as part of the final concert for the joint workshop week with the WDR BIG BAND at the WDR Funkhaus / Cologne (September 2021).
Every two years, the renowned professionals of the WDR BIG BAND meet the motivated young musicians of the BUNDESJAZZORCHESTER. This is the fifth time that the young musicians have benefited from this lively cooperation. Coaching, workshops, exchange of ideas, joint rehearsals and subsequent concerts in Heek and Cologne. For the young jazz musicians, it is a unique opportunity to watch their experienced colleagues at work during intensive rehearsals and concerts, to get advice in individual coaching sessions, and to exchange ideas about style and technique.
